Wyoming High School Girls Basketball Rankings: Feb. 19, 2015
Three of the 4 classes in the latest coaches/media rankings have no change from last week, and the stage is set for a few big games this week.
4A is still the same, and for now, it appears to be Sheridan, Gillette and then everyone else. The Lady Broncs and Lady Camels have both swept #3 East and #5 Central, but need to focus on this week's road trip, before they can turn their attention to next week's big rematch vs. each other. Meanwhile the Lady Thunderbirds and Lady Indians meet in Round 2 at Storey Gym, while Natrona stays put at #4.
This week looks to be interesting in 3A. There's no change in the rankings (Rawlins, Lovell, Powell, Douglas, Star Valley), but Friday night will be the night to watch. That's when #4 Douglas plays at #1 Rawlins and #3 Powell is at #5 Star Valley.
It's Class 2A that saw a shakeup in the rankings, as a result of last week's results. Most notable was that former #2, now #5 Burns lost twice. Southeast is still the unanimous #1 and the only undefeated team left in the state. Thermopolis and Lyman share the #2 ranking, while Pine Bluffs moves up to #4. PB visits SE on Friday.
1A has calmed down heading into the last week of the regular season. Cokeville retains the unanimous #1 ranking, followed by LIttle Snake River, Upton, St. Stephens and Lingle-Ft. Laramie. The only 2 games of interest involved the Lady Doggers as they play 2A ranked opponents, Burns and Pine Bluffs this weekend.
