WyoPreps Basketball Rankings on February 18, 2026

A new top-ranked team in 2A girls, plus three unanimous No. 1-ranked teams in the boys’ rankings, highlight the new WyoPreps Coaches and Media Basketball Polls unveiled on Wednesday. Overall, the rankings saw shuffling in most divisions, but only two teams rejoined their respective top fives. For the girls, Sundance took over the top spot in 2A after their head-to-head victory over Big Horn last week. After a couple of losses, Greybull dropped from the poll, and Pine Bluffs re-entered for the first time in nearly a month.

WYOPREPS COACHES AND MEDIA BASKETBALL POLLS 2-18-26

In 4A, Cheyenne Central climbed up to third after it beat Thunder Basin last week, so those teams just traded spots. Meanwhile, Laramie received just enough votes to hold the No. 5 position. There was no tie in Class 1A girls. Southeast was alone in third, and Little Snake River slid to fourth. There was no change in the 3A girls’ top five.

1 = Cokeville

2 = Burlington

3 = Southeast

4 = Little Snake River

5 = Upton

Class 2A:

1 = Sundance

2 = Big Horn

3 = Wyoming Indian

4 = Tongue River

5 = Pine Bluffs

Class 3A:

1 = Cody

2 = Lander

3 = Pinedale

4 = Wheatland

5 = Powell

Class 4A:

1 = East

2 = Green River

3 = Central

4 = Thunder Basin

5 = Laramie

Class 4A Boys Changes the Most for a Second Straight Week

Class 4A saw the most movement and had the most teams receive votes in the new poll. After Sheridan and Natrona County, Cheyenne Central moved back up to third. Thunder Basin suffered two losses last weekend, and they dropped into a tie for fourth with Rock Springs, who re-entered the rankings. Six more schools earned votes. Buffalo and Powell traded spots in the 3A boys’ top five. For the second straight week in 1A, Saratoga and Cokeville flipped positions. After Cokeville lost at Little Snake River, they fell to fifth. The 2A rankings remained the same, and only the top five teams received votes.
