The first full weekend of 2015 was not as crazy for the girls as it was the boys, but a few teams did get moved around in the first coaches/media rankings of the New Year.

The top 4 spots in 4A are still dominated by east teams. Cheyenne East moves ahead of Sheridan for the #1 ranking for now, but that has a chance to change, once conference play starts next week. #3 Gillette and #4 Central will figure into things as well. Natrona is the only west team with an even record so far, so they get the #5 spot. They will try to climb higher, when they host the #2 Lady Broncs on Saturday.

This is going to be a huge week for 3A teams. Douglas retains the top spot, despite losing their first game of the season last week. Star Valley climbs up to #2 after an impressive road win vs. former #2, and now #5 Mountain View, but the Lady Braves will miss out on the fun this week. Rawlins and Powell hold at #3 and #4. On Friday, the Lady Outlaws visit the Lady Bearcats for a non-conference game, while the Lady Panthers host unranked Worland. Powell gets last year state runner-ups and defending champs back-to-back. They visit #1 Douglas on Saturday. On that same day, #5 MV travels to #3 Rawlins.

There are 2 undefeated teams in 2A, and that means they are the top 2 ranked teams. Both #1 Southeast and #2 Burns took a very long road trip to Tongue River and Big Horn last week, but came away with big wins. SE has a big game Saturday in inter-class play vs. arch rival 1A Lingle-Ft. Laramie. Thermopolis stays put at the #3 ranking. Lyman dropped a couple spots to #4, after getting a wake up call on their own floor last week, courtesy of the new #5 team, Wyoming Indian.

There's one more undefeated team, and that would be 1A Cokeville, who sits on top with a 13-0 record. Big conference games await this week, as they host Encampment, who dropped out of the rankings, and then current #3 Little Snake River, who is back in. Lingle-Ft. Laramie moves up to #2, going into their big game, vs. #1 2A Southeast on Saturday. Burlington drops a couple of spots to #4, while Upton is in the rankings at #5.
