Star Valley's Catie Nichols Commits to Bismarck St. for Track

Catie Nichols of Star Valley has earned a chance to compete at the college level in track and field, and her next stop will be Bismarck State in North Dakota. So far this season. Nichols placed 2nd in the 100 meters at the Malad Invitational and took 5th in the long jump at that meet. She also took 3rd in the 100 at the Sugar-Salem event.

At the 2025 State Indoor Track Meet in Gillette, the Star Valley 1600 medley relay team with Nichols aboard placed 6th in 4A in 4.28.47. Her 4x200 relay team was 10th in 1.57.16. Nichols also competed in the 55-meter dash, placing 24th in the preliminary round at 7.89 and placing 29th in the long jump prelims at 14-2.

At the 2024 State Indoor Meet, Nichols and her 1600 medley teammates were 8th in 4A at 4.43.99 along with a 7.83 in the 55 meters, which put her 12th, and a 29.75 in the 200, which put her 24th. At last year's Outdoor State Championships, Nichols was on Star Valley's 4x100 relay team, which took 5th in 4A.

The Mystics of Bismarck State is a junior college institution that competes in the MonDak Conference.
