Quincy Paris of Midwest a Three Event Winner at 1A State Track
Quincy Paris of Midwest is a fabulous all-around athlete and a well-decorated State Champion in track and field. At the 1A Outdoor Championships over the weekend in Casper, Paris won 3 field events: the triple jump, long jump, and the high jump. He briefly held the overall record in the triple jump at 48-10 until it was broken by Landon Walker of Kelly Walsh with a 50-foot+ jump on the final day of competition. Paris now owns the 1A record in that event.
He made it back-to-back 1A State Championships in the long jump, going 22-3, missing the class record by 2 inches. Paris cleared 6-2 to win the 1A High Jump and was a State Champion in that event as a sophomore. He has superior athletic skills and was an All-State football selection in 1A 6-Man and an All-Conference basketball player. He will be competing in track for the University of Wyoming next season.
We had a chance to chat with Paris about his effort at the State Track Meet, and he enjoyed the experience.
