Wyoming Tracksters Prepped for Nike Outdoor Nationals

A group of Wyoming track and field student-athletes will compete at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, OR this weekend.

Seven high schoolers and one middle schooler will be taking part in this year’s event on June 15-18, 2023.

Big Piney’s Colby Jenks is in the GARMIN Championship division of the 800 meters.

Lander’s Gage Gose is in the Championship Division of both the 110 and 400-meter hurdles.

Fellow Tiger Reed McFadden will compete in the Championship division of the men’s decathlon and the Emerging Elite division of the 400-meter hurdles.

Star Valley has four girls that will be in action this weekend. Kammi Merritt is in the Championship division of the 400-meter hurdles. Ava Morgan will be in the Emerging Elite division of the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Valerie Jirak will take part in the Championship division of the women’s heptathlon. Star Valley will also have a team in the Championship 4x100 meter relay division. The relay members are Merritt, Morgan, Jirak, and Grace Collins.

The final representative from Wyoming is Jackson middle schooler Landon Kjorstad. He will run in the Middle School 800 meters and 1-mile races.
