Coming off a challenging season, the Mountain View Buffalos feel like there is nowhere to go but up.

The 2022-23 season was a forgettable one for MVHS. They finished at 2-22 overall and 0-6 in the 3A Southwest Quadrant. The Buffalos went 0-2 at the regional tournament and failed to qualify for the state tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

Mountain View lost its only all-conference player and double-figure scorer.

This year’s team will rely on its speed, quickness, and execution. Seniors Colt Henrie and Will Anderson are looked at as two of the team’s leaders. WyoPreps spoke to the duo and Coach Dustin Rees about the upcoming season. They described how practices have been going, how they’ll overcome a lack of height and post players on the team, knowing rebounding will be a key in every game they play, and more.

Mountain View is only a couple of years removed from a runner-up finish, but with a different style of play this season, we’ll see how the Buffalos adjust early on.

The new season starts at home in the Bridger Valley Tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
