This week’s WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Softball Poll revealed on Wednesday has a new team atop the rankings.

There is also a new team in the top five, and one falls out of the poll.

The Kelly Walsh Trojans are undefeated in this inaugural season of high school softball in Wyoming, and now they are on top of the rankings. Kelly Walsh received seven of the 14 votes for No. 1. They slide past Thunder Basin, who falls to second after suffering their first conference loss of the season last week.

Campbell County, who beat Thunder Basin in the conference game, got three first-place votes, but it was not enough to move up. The Camels remain third.

Cody is also undefeated, and the Fillies maintain their ranking at No. 4.

Cheyenne Central is back in the top five in fifth after a couple of convincing victories on the road last week.

Three more schools received votes in this week’s poll.

On the schedule this weekend, Cody will visit Kelly Walsh. Also, the two Gillette schools head to Cheyenne to face Central and East in some key games.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
