Cheyenne Central's Emily Needham had no shortage of motivation heading into the state tennis finals in Gillette. A year ago, Needham was the #2 singles champion and wanted to excel at the next level. Her finals opponent was Kelly Walsh's Finley Klinger, who was the only player to defeat Needham this season. Needham had the match in hand with well-placed shots and a cool demeanor as she won the championship trophy 6-2 and 6-3. Needham also was instrumental in Central's team state championship which ended up in a tie with Sheridan. Needham is a junior so look for her next year. Here's some of the action from that championship match in Gillette on Saturday.
