The 1A West Regional track meet was held over the weekend in Shoshoni. The top 8 finishers in each event and the top 4 relay teams advanced to this week's state championships in Casper.

For the boys, Burlington did win the team title with 138.5 points with Cokeville 2nd and Saratoga 3rd. Kaden Dower of Western Heritage ran 11.51 in the 100 meters to take 1st and also won the 200 meters in 23.05. Boe Nichols of Ten Sleep prevailed in the 400 with a time of 51.50. In the hurdle races for the guys, Cokeville's Nate Barnes ran 15.45 for 1st in the 110 and took the gold in the 300 with a time of 42.24

In the boy's distance races, Cokeville's Ethan Bird captured the 800 and the 1600 meter runs, running 2.01.14 and 4.42.98 respectively. The Bartlett brothers of Saratoga, Grant, and Grady finished 1-2 in the 3200. The winning time there was 10.56.39.  In the relays, Meeteetse won the 4x100, Cokeville the 4x400, Burlington the 4x800. Farson-Eden prevailed in the 1600 sprint medley.

In the 1A boys field events, Gideon George of Burlington won the triple jump, going 41-8, and also won the high jump with a leap of 6-1. The long jump winner was Dace Bennett of Meeteetse, going 20-2.75 while Nathan Boreen cleared 12 feet to win the pole vault. In the throwing events, Kaden Dower won his 3rd event of the meet with a toss 134-1 to take the discus. Saratoga's Noah Rimmer threw 47-6.5 to take the shot-put.

On the girl's side in the 1A West regional, Ten Sleep sophomore Kenna Holiday won both the 100 and the 200-meter dashes. She ran 12.81 in the 100 and 26.76 in the 200. Cokeville's Bryli Groll prevailed in the 400 in 1.01.65. Her teammate, Emmie Barnes won the 100 hurdles in 15.66 which tied the meet record. Whitney Bennett of Saratoga took first in the 300 hurdles in 48.04. In the girl's relays, Meeteetse won the 4x100, Cokeville the 4x400 and Burlington took the 4x800. The 1600 medley champion was Saratoga.

In ladies distance races, Bryli Groll of Cokeville took the 800 in 2.30.30 with Lindsey Holiday of Ten Sleep taking the 1600 meters in 5.57.86. the 3200-meter winner was Amber Stubbs of Encampment in 13.33.39

To the field events, Tana Teichert of Cokeville had a nice meet with a victory in the pole vault at 9 feet even and a victory in the long jump, at 16-1.50. Saratoga's Whitney Bennett won her 2nd event of the meet with a leap of 34-6 to win the triple jump. Victoria Nelson of Burlington cleared 4-11 to win the high jump. In the weight events, Encampments Lizzi James threw 108-08 to win the discus with Taryn Seabolt of Dubois winning the shot with a throw of 32-2.

In the 1A West girl's team standings, Cokeville took first with 152 points, Burlington 2nd with 92.5, and Meeteetse 3rd with 84.5. Be sure and take a look at our video from Shoshoni on Friday afternoon. Enjoy!
