Teams in Class 1A and 2A have their state tournament games on Saturday to complete the tournaments in the consolation and 3rd place games. 

These are brief summaries of all the games of day three. The championship games will have their own post.

Consolation

Girls 2A Final Score: Rocky Mountain 52 Southeast 44

The Rocky Mountain Grizzlies hold on to beat the Southeast Cyclones, the team led the entire game. The Grizzlies shot 33.3% from the field and were able to knock down four 3-pointers. Rocky Mountain took advantage of scoring 14 points off of turnovers. Rocky Mountain had 12 total steals. Kiara Jolley had 22 points seven rebounds and two steals in the win. Teagan Townsend had 15 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Southeast shot 40.5% from the field and outrebounded Rocky Mountain. Breanna Herring had 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the loss.

Girls 1A Final Score: Little Snake River 41 Saratoga 24 

Little Snake River Rattlers led the entire game as they were leading 10-0 at the end of the first quarter and did not look back. The Rattlers outrebounded the Panthers 58-42. Samantha Moon had 19 points and 13 rebounds. Vea Habel had three points but was able to bring down 12 rebounds in the win. Whitney Bennett was the leading scorer for Saratoga with nine points.

Boys 1A Final Score: Kaycee 42 Lingle-Ft. Laramie 29

Kaycee beat Lingle Saturday afternoon. The Kaycee Buckaroos shot 41.7% from the field. The Buckaroos also outrebounded Lingle 30-20. Dion Ealy led Kaycee with 13 points and eight rebounds. Ethan Devlin scored 10 points and hit two 3-pointers. Kaycee scored 16 points off of turnovers. Caeden Riley was the leading scorer for Lingle with 13 points

Boys 2A Final Score: Rocky Mountain 67 Pine Bluffs 64

A close game until the very end. This game was back and forth action between these two teams. There were 15 lead changes and 11 ties throughout the game. Rocky Mountain had a strong 4th quarter scoring 25 points in that quarter Zach Simmons scored 20 points, Tyler Banks scored 15, and Taylor Winland had 15 points and 11 rebounds all for Rocky Mountain. The Grizzlies shot 55.8% from the field. Pine Bluffs players also had good games. Reed Thompson had 19 points and Michael Shain had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists in the loss. The Hornets hit 12 3-pointers.

3rd Place Games

Girls 1A Final Score: Moorcroft 49 Lusk 47 

The Moorcroft Wolves came back to win this one. After starting down 14-0, the Wolves had good 2nd half by scoring 35 points in those quarters. The Wolves were down by five points with less than half the 4th quarter to go when the team rallied back to gain victory. The Wolves won the turnover battle. Kaylei Petz was the leading scorer she had 14 points. Petz hit four 3-pointers in the win. RiLee Bonaguidi had 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in the win. Anna Richardson for Lusk had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Courtney Rowley also for Lusk had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals in the loss.

Girls 2A Final Score: Upton 52 Rock River 37 

Upton won this game after a slow start. Rock River was winning 13-9 at the end of the 1st quarter. Upton combined for 43 points in the next three quarters. Upton shot 43.8% from the field and won the turnover battle. Upton scored 23 points off of turnovers. Katlyn Louderback scored 15 points and six steals for Upton and Jerrica Caylor also for Upton had 10 points. Delaney Qualls was the leading scorer for Rock River with 19 points.

Boys 1A Final Score: Encampment 66 Upton 63  

The Encampment Tigers take third place at state basketball Saturday afternoon. The Tigers scored 24 points off of 3-pointers and 21 points off of turnovers. Encampment had as much as a 15 point lead but Upton scored 20 points in the 4th quarter before coming up short. Encampment outrebounded Upton 43-31. Dayne Anderson scored 25 points and Reid Schroder scored 15 points in the win. Also for Encampment Koye Gilbert had five points, but 16 rebounds. Luca Brooks was the leading scorer for Upton as he scored 15 points.

Boys 2A Final Score: Big Horn 49 Southeast 36

Big Horn came out of the gate strong and did not look back. The Big Horn Rams claim 3rd place at state basketball over the Southeast Cyclones. Big Horn got 12 points from its bench to help gain victory. The Ram were leading by 22 points at one point during the game. James Richards had 12 points and eight rebounds, Richards hit three 3-pointers. Big Horn also outrebounded Southeast 44-38 and also won the turnover battle. The leading scorer for Southeast was Bodie Herring who had 14 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
