Cokeville has been the ruler of the 1A girls basketball world for the last 3 seasons as the Panthers won yet another state title on Thursday with a 62-48 win over Upton. Emmie Barnes of Cokeville was an all-star with 33 points and was an astounding 11-17 from the field, hitting a trio of 3 pointers and going 8-9 from the free-throw line. You don't see that very often in a championship game so Barnes needless to say was terrific. She was the only Cokeville player in double figures with Rylee Teichert added 7 and Tana Teichert 6. The Panthers also had a decisive edge on the backboards, as they outrebounded Upton 36-23 and 15-3 on the offensive glass.

Upton was led in scoring by Alyson Louderback with 15 with Paige Timberman contributing 11 and Katlyn Louderback had 10. What hurt Upton was 33 turnovers and Cokeville scored 31 points off those miscues. The Cats did shoot 40% from the floor and hit 15 of 18 free throws but that wasn't enough. Upton finished the season at 17-5 and won 16 games last season. This program has come a long, long way over the last 5 seasons.

Cokeville wrapped things up with a record of 19-4 and has qualified for every state tournament with the exception of 1 since 2006. They are sound fundamentally and are humble in victory. This program has lost just 8 games over the course of those 3 state championship seasons. Their athletic success in all sports really has been amazing.

Here are some of the video highlights from that title game at the Ford Center in Casper from Thursday. Take a peek!
