You can't ask much more from Lane Catlin from 4A Thunder Basin. As a sophomore, he wrestled in 38 matches and won them all. That included a first-period pin of Rigan Hoggatt of Evanston on Saturday night in Casper for the 220-pound championship. Catlin meant business and held that same attitude for the entire season. Hoggatt enjoyed a solid season as well with a record of 29-4. Colter Dawson of Jackson secured 3rd place at 220 with a narrow 6-4 win over Quinton Mangus. Dawson was 9-2 this season and Mangus was 26-7. Dom Gray from Kelly Walsh defeated Colter Helm of Natrona for 5th place.

In 3A, if you want to wrestle bad enough, you'll change zip codes. Sam Sorenson of Torrington moved to Goshen County from New York State and the result was a state title at 220. He beat Christian Peterson of Worland by fall in the 2nd period and Sorenson finished the year 31-0. How about that and the guy is a sophomore! Peterson, a junior ended the year 30-10. Garrett Parker from Rawlins prevailed over Green River's Deylin Miller 5-1 for 3rd place. Parker was 24-5 this year and Miller had a 20-12 mark. Kolby Parker of Douglas placed 5th thanks to a pin over Kysen Hebdon of Star Valley.

In a battle of attrition, Tucker Jensen of Wind River fought off Tate Clutter of Greybull for the 2A 220 pound title. Jensen trailed in the match but never gave up and pinned Clutter in the 3rd period. Jensen went 24-7 as a sophomore and Clutter as a senior went 22-5. Ethan Mack of Wright was the 3rd place finisher at this weight as he pinned Rosendo Garcia of Lovell so Mack had a record of 32-16 while Garcia finished at 18-6. Conner Viehweg of Cokeville took 5th with an injury default win over Christian Reilly of Hulett.
