Ashley McPhie of Thermopolis Decides on Basketball at RMC

Thermopolis standout Ashley McPhie is taking her talents north to Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT for basketball.

McPhie was an All-State selection during her senior season. She averaged 14 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game for the Bobcats. McPhie led Class 3A with 51 made triples and was second in 3-point field goal percentage. She shot 38 percent from the field and 36 percent beyond the arc. McPhie had three of the top-5 scoring performances in a single game for Thermopolis last season. That included a 25-point effort against Buffalo on Jan. 30.

The Bobcats had an overall record of 13-11 during the 2019-20 season. They were 2-4 in the 3A Northeast Quadrant.

McPhie was also an All-State selection in volleyball last fall for Thermopolis. She also competed in track and field during her prep career with the Bobcats.

Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT competes at the NAIA Division I level. The Battlin’ Bears are part of the Frontier Conference. Their women’s basketball team went 19-11 last season.
