Allred and Tims Receive WyoPreps Athlete of the Week Awards 4-9-25 [VIDEOS]

A softball and soccer player are the WyoPreps Athletes of the Week, presented by Premier Bone and Joint Centers. Following last week’s performances, March 31 through April 5, 2025, Green River senior Kodi Allred and Mountain View junior Colter Tims were chosen for the weekly honor. Allred posted some huge numbers in three games for the Wolves on the diamond, which included a pair of conference victories. Tims was the backbone of two huge wins for the Buffalos on the pitch.

Girls Winner

Allred had an astounding .900 batting average in three games last weekend. She had nine hits, which included four doubles and a triple, and seven RBIs. Kodi’s slugging percentage was 1.500, and her OPS (on-base plus slugging) was an eye-popping 2.4.09. Allred scored six runs, drew one walk, and had zero strikeouts. Defensively, she had three assists and 12 put-outs in 17 total chances. Allred helped Green River win their first two Southwest Pod Conference games against South, 12-9, and Laramie, 6-5.

WyoPreps caught up with Allred, who felt the team did a great job of minimizing errors and keeping their competitiveness up. She discussed what worked at the plate, how she played at catcher, switching positions, transitioning from baseball to softball, her hits for the Green River Food Bank, and more.

Boys Winner

Tims recorded two shutouts in goal as Mountain View got their first wins in school history over No. 1 Cody and No. 2 Powell, and they were on the road. Last Friday, the Buffalos upset the top-ranked Broncs with a 2-0 win. They followed that with a 1-nil upset of the second-ranked Panthers last Saturday. Tims made seven saves in each match for 14 on the weekend.

WyoPreps visited with Tims to recap Mountain View’s huge weekend. Colter discussed how they pulled off two upsets, his play as the keeper, some of his biggest saves, credited his defense, and more.
