WYOPREPS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK WINNERS 8-20-24
Girls Winner
Talk about bursting onto the prep golf scene in Wyoming. Tazlynn Wagner is a 14-year-old freshman who won the first high school tournament of her career at the Green River Fall Invite. She fired rounds of 78 and 73 for a two-day total of 151. Wagner beat the field by ten shots. Not too shabby for your debut.
WyoPreps spoke to Tazlynn about her victory, how she felt she played, what parts of her golfing game went well and didn’t go too well, winning her high school debut, and more.
Boys Winner
Lind began his senior season with two rounds under par and a medalist honor at the Green River Fall Invite. He shot 69 in the first round last Thursday and followed that with a 67 last Friday. His two-round total was 136. That was seven shots clear of the field. He helped Evanston to a second-place team finish.
Lind visited with WyoPreps and discussed his victory, how he played the course, being one of the top high school golfers in the state, adjusting to the 4A competition, and more.
Congratulations to Tazlynn and Ryker on receiving our weekly award!
