Natalie Clonch of Thunder Basin High School had a big senior season to earn the first WyoPreps Athlete of the Year award for Girls Softball. Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Wyld Gear, Clonch was an all-state selection for the third time in her prep career and led the Bolts to the state championship in May.

Clonch produced some big offensive numbers. She had a .639 batting average with 51 RBIs and 56 runs scored. Clonch finished the 2024 season with 53 total hits. That included 29 extra-base hits. She had 12 doubles, six triples, and 11 home runs. Her final home run of the season capped Thunder Basin’s state championship game victory over Cheyenne East. Clonch was a contact hitter, as she walked ten times and struck out only six times all season. Natalie added 21 stolen bases. On defense, she handled a pitching staff that was somewhat inexperienced at the varsity level entering the 2024 season. Clonch finished with a fielding percentage of .991.
