Big Piney Advances to 1A 9-Man Playoffs

Big Piney made it out of the rugged 1A 9-Man West with a 6-2 record and that was good enough for the 4th seed from that side in the upcoming playoffs. The Punchers took care of Riverside on Thursday 34-0 so they will take on the #1 seed from the East, Pine Bluffs on the road on Friday.

Big Piney had a 4-point loss to playoff-bound Shoshoni and a 2-point loss to playoff-bound Wind River. But they did beat Rocky Mountain who made the postseason by 4 so the Punchers have played in a bunch of intriguing games. The Punchers posted their 3rd straight winning season and have made the playoffs in 5 of the last 6 years.

Riverside had a 4-4 season and will miss the postseason this year. They opened the season 2-0 which included a win over playoff-bound Southeast but lost 3 of 4 to end the season. The program did qualify for the playoffs in 2021 and 2020.
