Boys basketball rankings for the week have a 4A team making history and then three classes with very little change.

Despite going 1 and 1 over the weekend, Cheyenne South is ranked for the first time in school history. Its a series of firsts says coach Jim Schaefer who's team won their first game ever against a varsity opponent two years ago against Glenrock. They then beat their first 4A team last year in KW. This time around with the Trojans in Casper, it was their first ROAD win and their first W against a ranked opponent. The Bison are #5 this week and see Gillette, Riverton, and Laramie going 1-2-3. Natrona is back in the top five ranked fourth. Sheridan and KW are no longer in the top five. Big games this week has Gillette opening conference play with Laramie for a third straight year. The Plainsmen have won the two previous conference opening games, including a triple overtime win last year at Gillette. The #1 ranked Camels also take on #5 Cheyenne South.

#1 in 3A is Star Valley. Buffalo's loss to Rawlins drops the Bison to fifth. Wheatland is now second, Rawlins is up a notch to third while Lyman climbs one to fourth. There are no games this weekend featuring ranked team vs. ranked team.
