The Cokeville girls basketball team has been one of the most consistent programs in the state of Wyoming.  The Panthers have just one losing season in the last 15 years with 6 state titles in that time period. Their coach, Briant Teichert has been at the helm since 1983 so the Panthers are a model of consistency.

Cokeville started out the 2021 state tournament with a 40 point win over HEM 72-32 with Kylee Dayton leading the way with 14, Rylee Teichert had 12, and Emmie Barnes chipping in 10. In the 1A semi-finals, the Panthers had a much closer game with Southeast before prevailing 51-43. Barnes had 18 and Tana Teichert 16.

In the 1A state championship game, Cokeville held off Upton 62-48 to finish 19-4. Emmie Barnes was superlative with 33 points on 11-17 from the field and 8-9 from the free-throw line.  Barnes is a three-time all-state selection and her teammate Kylee Dayton is a two-time all-state pick. Tana Teichert and Rylee Teichert were also named all-state.

The good news for Cokeville is that Barnes and Dayton will be seniors next year so the Panthers will be tough again. Take a peek at our short video of this outstanding team.
