The Cokeville Panthers are 2020 Class 1A State basketball champions. The Panthers beat the Kaycee Lady Bucs Saturday evening for the title.

This is Cokeville's second straight title as the Panthers won it in 2019 as well. The team now has a total of 10 state titles.

The game started off close as at the end of the first quarter Cokeville had a 10-9 lead. It was not until the 2nd quarter until the team picked up the pace. The Panthers hit three 3-pointers in the 1st half of play and scored 13 points off of turnovers.

Before the half, Emmie Barnes of Cokeville hit two 3-pointers to give the Panthers some momentum going forward. The score at halftime was 21-17 with a Cokeville lead. Cokeville shot 40% from the field in the first half.

The third quarter was when the Panthers began to pull away. The Panthers held the Lady Bucs to just six points in the 3rd quarter. The score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 33-23 as the Panthers scored on a fast break late in the 3rd to keep their momentum rolling into the 4th quarter.

The Panther's offense just could not be slowed down in the 4th quarter. However, the Panthers were able to slow down the Kaycee offense. The Lady Bucs offense was held scoreless until 2:48 remaining in the 4th quarter.

The final score of the game was 46-33 as Cokeville claimed victory in this contest.

Emmie Barnes of Cokeville had 20 points, eight rebounds, and three steals in the win. Kamille Nate had 10 points and eight rebounds in the win. As a team, the Cokeville Panthers shot 42.1% from the field and outrebounded Kaycee 40-18.

Tinely Pierson of Kaycee was the leading scorer with 16 points. Pierson also had five steals in the loss.
