The Buffalo Bison entered their Friday night game against Douglas 1 game under the .500 mark. Douglas came into the contest ranked #4 in 3A but Buffalo certainly answered the challenge with a 62-37 win.

The Bison had four guys in double figures led by Calvin Rule with 15 and he was averaging 6 points a game. Cody Johnson had 13 and that was right at his average, Hunter Stone had 11 and Eli Patterson had 13. Stone has been averaging 9 points a game and Patterson 11. More than anything, Buffalo turned in a sharp defensive performance as they didn't give Douglas very many quality looks.

Douglas got 12 points from Cameryn Spencer and he was the only Bearcat player in double figures. Nate Halqiuist was limited to 5 points and he was averaging 14 per game. Kirk Igo has been averaging 11 per contest.

Both of these teams have enough talent to win more than they lose, it's just a matter of consistency. And both teams ended the weekend with big wins as Buffalo defeated Newcastle by 28 and Douglas beat Thermopolis by 29. So the Bison sat at 6-5 after the weekends' action and the Cats were 7-3. 3A Boys basketball looks to be very competitive this season and Douglas, along with Buffalo will be in the mix.

We have some of the video from Friday night's game from Buffalo. Enjoy!
