From 1990 through 2018, Encampment did not field a football team. When it was re-instated in 2019, the results for the Tigers have been very good. Last season, Encampment lost to Farson-Eden 42-41 in 1A 6 man semi-final round action and this season, the Tigers took the next step by qualifying for the state championship game with a 56-36 win over Dubois on Friday.

Encampment got out of the gate quickly as Quade Jordan had a couple of touchdown runs, one for 8 yards and the other for 39 to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead. Dubois answered with a strong 2nd quarter, outscored Encampment 20-14. The Rams received great efforts in the contest from running back Wyatt Trembly who had 181 yards rushing and a touchdown along with Ryan Wells who threw 4 touchdown passes, 2 of them going to Kaden Chamley. Encampment went toe to toe with Dubois in that 2nd quarter as Caysen Barkhurst returned a punt 43 yards for a touchdown and Quade Jordan found the end zone for the 3rd time. So the Tigers led 28-20 at halftime.

Jordan produced a 65 yard run for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter to increase the lead to 34-20. Jordan scored his 5th TD of the game in the 4th quarter and coupled with a pick-sis from Koye Gilbert, went on to win this semi-final 56-36. Jordan finished with an astounding 257 yards rushing on 22 carries.

Encampment will make the trip to Laramie on Friday to meet Little Snake River at noon. The Tigers lone loss this season was to Little Snake River 66-24. Dubois had a strong season and wraps things up at 5-3. We do have a few pics to share with you thanks to Adria Trembly and Steve Trembly. Enjoy!
