Eva Nitschke of Rawlins Dominating the Hurdles in Indoor Track

One of the stars of the indoor track season has been Eva Nitschke of Rawlins who has been phenomenal in the 55-meter hurdle event. She won the season the season-opening meet in Casper with a time of 8.87 and also won the Laramie event with a clocking of 8.82. In addition to that win in Laramie, she also placed first in the 400-meter dash.

Nitschke also competed in the tough Air Force Academy meet in Colorado Springs and took 3rd and then last week is Casper, she took the gold again in the hurdles at 8.65. Nitschke also won the 200-meter dash so she had a pretty good day.

The junior from Rawlins burst on the scene by winning the 3A state championship in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles back in May. She is a terrific athlete with a bright future and we caught up with her in Casper; sharing some thoughts on her season to date.
