
Wyoming Tracksters Head to National Stage at 46th Simplot Games
It is Week 6 of the 2026 Wyoming prep indoor track season. Teams and individuals are at either a prestigious national meet or on a competition hiatus. The 46th Simplot Games draw some of the top competitors from around the country to the ICCU Dome at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. This track meet features over 200 high school and club teams. More than 2,000 athletes will compete across three days.
WYOPREPS WEEK 6 INDOOR TRACK SCHEDULE 2026
The Simplot Games is an open track meet. According to the registration information page, any high school athlete may enter one open running event, up to two relay events, and up to two field events. To participate in a second open running event, athletes must meet specific standards and obtain approval through a waiver process. Here is the schedule for Week 6 of indoor track. Thursday, Feb. 19:
Simplot Games in Holt Arena at Idaho State University: Track Events start at 4:30 p.m. & Field Events begin at 5 p.m. – only finals in the Girls & Boys Weight Throw.
Teams With Athletes Competing: Big Horn, Burns/Pine Bluffs, Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Mountain View, Natrona County, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Star Valley, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland.
The first day for athletes from the 307 was a good one. Laramie's Kate Lewis took 2nd in the women's weight throw at 48-07. Mason Kimberling from Thunder Basin finished 6th (55-10) in the men's weight throw.
In the prelims for other events, Wyoming had some top qualifiers. On the girls' side, Thunder Basin's Grace Miller (3rd) and Allie Scribner of Kelly Walsh (4th) were two of the top qualifiers for the 60-meter dash final. Keiran Giraldo of Laramie was 2nd in the 1600-meter qualifying. Sophia Gonzalez of Laramie (2nd), Lexi Longhurst (7th) from KW, and Tattum Toohey (10th) of Thunder Basin were among the top 10 in qualifying for the 3200 meters. Addison Alley of Riverton was the fastest qualifier in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.94 seconds. Ashley Rogge (3rd) and Mili Meza (7th) from Thunder Basin also advance.
For the boys, Carson Lundberg of NC was the top qualifier in the 60-meter dash at 6.96 seconds. Boston Cronebaugh of Cody was 3rd. In the 1600-meter qualifying, NC's Champ Ransom was 2nd, while Eli Balkenbush (5th) and Wyatt Veal (7th) of Sheridan were also near the top in qualifying. Cole Rogers from Mountain (6th) was among the fastest in the 60-meter hurdles.

WYOMING CHAMPION GIRLS
Keiran Giraldo of Laramie won the girls' 1600 meters at 4:57.58. Laramie's Sophia Gonzales won the 3200 meters at 11:02.54. Riverton's Addison Alley captured the 60-meter hurdles at 8.88 seconds. Adelyn Anderson from Lander took 1st in the shot put at 47-07.50. Allie Scribner of Kelly Walsh won the long jump at 18-00.25.
Other top girls' performances: Grace Miller from Thunder Basin placed 3rd in both the 60 meters and 200 meters. Lainey Berryhill from Laramie was 2nd in the 400 meters. Ashley Rogge of Thunder Basin was 4th in the 60-meter hurdles, 2nd in the high jump, and 2nd in the long jump. TBHS also had the runner-up 4x200 relay. Cheyenne Central placed 3rd in the 4x800 relay. Sheridan took 3rd in the SMR. Kate Lewis from Laramie placed 3rd in the shot put.
WYOMING CHAMPION BOYS
Cal Bibbey from Cheyenne Central won the freshman 1600 meters at 4:27.89. Derrick Murphy from Cheyenne East captured the triple jump at 47-06.75.
Other top boys' performances: Dayton Rhoades from East was 4th in a 60-meter dash and 2nd in the long jump. Laramie's Flynn Arnold was runner-up in the 400 meters. Champ Ransom of NC took 2nd in the 1600 meters. Cole Rogers from Mountain View placed 3rd in the 60-meter hurdles. Sheridan was 3rd in the 4x200-meter and 2nd in the 4x800-meter relays. The Broncs also took 3rd in the SMR. Big Horn placed 2nd in the 4x400-meter relays. Braylon Gifford from NC was 3rd in the long jump and triple jump.
