The Girls State Track Meet concluded in Casper on Saturday with a huge improvement in the weather compared to Friday. In 1A on the track, Kylee Dayton of Cokeville took the 100 hurdles in 17.11. Saratoga sophomore Whitney Bennett took the podium in the 300 hurdles in 47.10. Ten Sleep's Kenna Holiday prevailed in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.10. She also won the 200 in 27.30 with Bryli Groll of Cokeville capturing the 400 in 1.00.98. Lindsey Holiday of Ten Sleep took the 1600 meter run with a time of 5.37.68. In the 4x400 relay, Cokeville clinched a state championship with a win in 4.23.32. In the lone field event in 1A, HEM's Amy Campbell won the discus going 105-4. So Cokeville wins the 1A state title with 115 points, Southeast was 2nd with 91 and Kaycee took 3rd with 65.

In 2A, Tongue River had an impressive state meet to cap an impressive season. Freshman Addie Pendergast won the 100 and the 400-meter dashes and won 3 individual events in the meet and also ran on a winning relay team. Her time in the 100 was 13.03 and she clocked in at 56.88 in the 400. Her Eagle teammate Carleigh Reish had a great meet with multiple victories, including one in the 200 with a time of 27.49. Muriel Jones of Big Piney was a multi-event winner as well as she took the 1600 meter run in 5.20.38. Tongue River also prevailed in the 4x400 relay in 4.23.18. In the hurdle events, Adalaide Williams of Glenrock went 17.77 to win the 100 while Ashtyn Seeley of Wright won the 300 hurdles in 49.45. In the 2A girl's field events, Brook and Bailey Hofland of Sundance went 1-2 in the discus with Brook throwing 108-9 for the win. Tongue River won a state title in girls track for the first time since 1989 with 158 points, easily outdistancing Glenrock with 81.5 and Pine Bluffs was 3rd with 76.5

Over in 3A, Eva Nitschke of Rawlins swept the hurdle events as she won the 100 in 15.74 and the 300 in 46.08. In the sprint races, Powell's Waycee Harvey took the 100-meter dash in 13.26 and her teammate Jenna Hillman took the tape in the 200 in 26.90. Kamdynn Townsend of Douglas won her 3rd event of the meet as he placed first in the 400 in 57.70. Elena Jensen of Lyman was a multi-event winner thanks to running 5.23.98 in the 1600 meters. Powell finished off a great meet with a victory in the 4x400 relay in 4.08.51. Douglas senior Stephanie Witbrod took first in the triple jump at 37-2. Powell was the team champion in 3A with 105 points, Buffalo 2nd with 71, and Douglas 3rd with 66.

Finally, in 4A Girls, it was a very tight team race as Cheyenne Central edged Campbell County 85.5-82 with Kelly Walsh a close 3rd with 80 points. In the last event of the day, Cheyenne South won the 4x400 in 4.08.44 and Cheyenne Central took 6th and Campell County 5th to preserve the team title for the Indians. In the sprint races, Sydalee Brown of Campbell County won the 100 in 12.71 with Taliah Morris winning the 200 with a time of 26.76. The 400-meter champion was Laramie's Addy Forney in 58.57. Jackson's Kate Brigham won a couple of events as she took the 1600 meter run on Saturday in 5.01.84. Over in the hurdle events, Gabby Mendoza of Thunder Basin took the 100 in 15.86 with Lillian Munoz of Green River winning the 300 with a time of 45.71. In the 4A triple jump, Elayna Chafee of Kelly Walsh won that event with a leap of 38-10.25.
