Evanston’s Ryker Lind Leads Wyoming at 2024 Junior America’s Cup Golf Tournament
Evanston senior Ryker Lind finished in a tie for fifth place in the boys' division of the 2024 Junior America's Cup golf tournament in Soldier Hollow, Utah. The tournament was played from July 30 through Aug. 1, 2024. Lind fired a three-under-par total of 213 over the three rounds on the Gold course. He was eight shots back of the winner. It was the second straight year a Wyoming boy was in the top five.
Lind helped the Wyoming boys to a tenth-place finish in the team standings. Wyoming's final score was at 13-over-par or 661. Southern California won the title by six shots with a total score of 634.
Ash Edwards from Wyoming tied for 30th place at six-over-par. Austin Barry fired a three-day total of 14-over-par and tied for 53rd. Tate Nichols tied for 65th at 18-over-par.
Erika Cook, former three-time 3A state champion, tied for 21st place and led the Wyoming girls. She had rounds of 73, 75, and 75 at Soldier Hollow's Silver course. Her total was plus-7. The Wyoming girls' team finished 18th out of 18 teams with a score of 739 or 91 over par.
Shelbi Gardner placed 68th at 41 over par. Lily Nichols tied for 69th at 43 over par, and Jordyn Horsley came in 72nd place at 52 over par.
The Junior America's Cup is comprised of teams from 12 western states, Mexico, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
