The indoor track season has begun and meets are much smaller than in years past thanks to pandemic protocols. For instance, the Natrona meet over the weekend had just a handful of schools and a majority of them were from the southwest part of the state. In 2020, this meet had close to 800 participants.

On the boy's side in the Casper meet on Saturday, there were a couple of guys that won 2 events. Star Valley all-star distance runner Peter Visser captured the 1600 and 3200-meter events and Natrona's Nolan Valdez won the 200-meter run and the triple jump. NC's Robert Douglas won the 55-meter hurdles and the long jump.  Natrona's Avery Cox took the tape in the 55-meter dash and Star Valley's Davis Burton was the winner in the 400. In the 800, Mountain View Tayden Bell took the tape, and Natrona's Robert Douglas looked sharp in winning the 55 hurdles. Star Valley won the 4x200 relay with Evanston taking the 4x400 and 1600 sprint medley.

In the boy's field events, Gabe Klinger of Star Valley took the high jump, and his teammate Jesus Carrillo-Zarate placed first in the pole vault. The shot put winner was Payton Vernon of Evanston. In the boy's team standings, Natrona was 1st with 195 points, Star Valley 2nd with 109, and Evanston 3rd with 65.

On the girl's side of the Casper meet, Mountain View's Elena Jensen won two events, the 1600 and the 3200 meter runs with Star Valley's Jacie Angell taking the 800. In the sprints, Sarah Mcken of Star Valley edged the field in the 55-meter dash with her teammate Valerie Jirak winning the 200. The 400 winner was Ella Spear of Natrona and Ellie Horrocks of Evanston was the winner in the 55-meter hurdles.

In the relays, Natrona placed first in the 4x200m Evanton won the 4x400, and Star Valley took the 1600 sprint medley.  In the ladies' field events, Kaelea Gibson from Green River captured the high jump, Kenley Plowman who competes for Mountain View on the indoor circuit, and Kemmerer on the outdoor circuit, placed first in the long jump with NC's Breaonna Beckley winning the triple jump. Her teammate, Erin Weibel won the pole vault, and the shot put winner was Aspen Griggs of Evanston.

In the girl's team standings, Natrona was the big winner with 211 points, Evanston was 2nd with 103, and Star Valley 3rd with 98.
