Defending 3A state champion star valley took on their neighbor, Jackson on Friday in the semi-final round of the playoffs.  The first half was closely contested with each team tallying in the opening quarter. Star valley got on the board first with a 19-yard touchdown connection from Dean Shaw to RJ Cazier to give the Braves a 7-0 lead. Jackson answered right back with their super back and that’s Jeydon Cox as he found the end zone from the doorstep to even the game at 7

To the 2nd quarter and each team found the end zone again. Cox scored again for Jackson with Star Valley responding with Brant Nelson throwing a 21-yard touchdown pass to Hazen Erickson so it was 14 all at the halftime intermission. The Braves got into gear in the 3rd quarter and scored after a blocked punt. Dean Shaw rolled into the end zone from 13 yards out to give star valley a 21-14 advantage. Shaw wasn’t finished as he caught a 19 yard TD pass to increase the lead to 14. Shaw did just about everything in this game.

In the final quarter, Cazier scored for the 2nd time on 1 19 yard run. Cox scored for the 3rd time for Jackson with a 19 yard Td reception. Chase Merrill wrapped up the scoring with a 4 yard Td catch from R.J. Cazier no less as Star Valley gets to 11-0 on the year with a 42-21 win over Jackson. The Braves advance to the 3A championship and will play Powell on Friday in Laramie.  Jackson wraps up the season at 7-4.
