Josh Lane of Kelly Walsh hasn't been playing competitive golf for very long but has put together two remarkable seasons at the prep level. Back in 2022, Lane won the 4A State Championship with rounds of 73 and 73 and beat Sheridan's Brock Owings in a one-hole playoff. That was certainly a dramatic way to win a state title.

In 2023, Lane took 3rd at the 4A State Tournament in Sheridan as he carded rounds of 76 and 77 and finished 2 strokes off the pace behind Daniel Meyers of Cheyenne East. Those kinds of accomplishments earned him a spot with the Eastern Wyoming College team in Torrington for the 2023-24 season.

Lane has played in some high-quality out-of-state tournaments which was a learning experience, to say the least. He did win the Wyoming Junior Amateur Tournament and placed 2nd at last year's Wyoming Amateur Tournament in the 2nd flight. He is nearly a scratch golfer and has a bright future ahead of him.
