After four straight years of not making the state tournament, the Lander girls now have earned a trip to Casper for 3 straight years. The Tigers went 17-6 this past season and finished 4th at the 3A state tournament. Lander did have one all-state selection and that was junior Demi Stauffenberg who averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds per game. Pint guard Ryan Bell was an all-conference pick and she averaged 7 points a game, Megan Winfield also threw in 7 per game.

At the state tournament, Lander's quarterfinal round opponent was Newcastle with the Tigers prevailing 40-36. Lander led by as many as 14 in the game but outscored the Dogies by 4 in the 4th quarter. Winfield went 5-10 from the field and led the Tigers with 15 points with Stauffenberg adding 9 points and 10 rebounds.

In the 3A semi-finals, Lander ran into eventual state champion Douglas and the Tigers didn't have much of an answer for Bearcat center Allyson Fertig. She poured in 33 as Lander lost 74-35.  The Tigers got 9 points from Bell and 7 from Stauffenberg. In the 3rd and 4th place contest, Lander fell to Worland 45-36 as Stauffenberg had a solid game with 20 points.

Looking ahead to 2021-22, the core of this team returns so Lander will be very, very competitive.  Check out our short video of the Tigers in the state tournament. Enjoy!
