Lander’s Niiehii Black Commits to Central Wyoming College

Lander boys basketball player Niiehii Black has committed to play at Central Wyoming College in Riverton. He is a two-time all-state selection who averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds per game last season for the Tigers. To say that he is athletically gifted would be an understatement. Black, at 6-5 has tremendous vertical ability and was a difficult defensive assignment for every team he faced.

Lander won the 2019 3A state championship and was poised for another championship run until coronavirus concerns canceled the 2020 state tournament. Over the course of the last two seasons, the Tigers were 45-8. Central Wyoming College went 20-13 this past season with a win over Sheridan in the Region IX tournament before being eliminated by Northeastern Colorado.
