The second WyoPreps Athlete of the Year Award, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming, went to Lovell’s Erika Cook for girls’ golf.

Cook concluded her fall high school career with her fourth consecutive Class 3A state championship last month in Worland.

As a senior, she won all six fall tournaments she played in. Cook finished 11 of the 12 total competitive rounds of the season with the lead. The one time she didn’t have the lead was after Day 1 at the 3A state championships. She overcame a one-shot deficit and won by five shots. Cook fired rounds of 78 and 72 last month in Worland at Green Hills Golf Course. She became only the third girls’ golfer in state history to win four straight state titles.

In the video above, WyoPreps’ David Settle presented the award to Cook on Tuesday in Basin. Cook looked back on her senior season, her career, some of her highlights, teased what’s ahead for her, and more.

Congratulations to Erika Cook!
