The Lyman boys basketball team found some traction in the postseason starting in the 3A West regional as they posted two wins to grab a #2 seed for the state tournament. In their opening-round game at the state tourney, the Eagles held an 8 point lead over Buffalo but fell to the Bison 50-47. Lyman had a tough time shooting the basketball in the first half but this was a compelling game from start to finish. Joseph Turner had 10 points and by the way, he was named the State's Gatorade Boys Track Athlete of the Year.

In the consolation round, Lyman stayed alive with a win over Rawlins 48-40. McCoy Smith led the Eagles with 15, Preston Brewer had 11 and Turner once again had 10. So that put Lyman in the 5th/6th place game and their season came to an end with a 50-43 loss to Douglas. Alex Bradshaw had 10 points for the Eagles and Jett Dickerson contributed 10. Lyman wrapped up the year at 13-11

They did have an all-state selection in McCoy Smith who averaged 11 points a game. Alex Bradshaw who averaged 10 a game was named all-conference. Bradshaw was a junior this past season and Smith was a sophomore. So that's a pretty good foundation to build around for 2021-22. Check out our short video of the Eagles that we have for you!
