Deciding on a college sports opportunity isn't exactly easy and earning a spot somewhere isn't easy either. Cheyenne East softball player Mariah Bledsoe parlayed a good 2024 season into a college roster spot at Waldorf, University in Forest City, Iowa.

Bledsoe is a valuable utility player who can patrol the outfield, catch, and play 1st and 3rd base. At the plate in 2024, she had 20 hits and 19 runs batted in with 73 at-bats. Bledsoe played in 25 games this season which was a lot more than her sophomore season thanks to a variety of injuries. Bledsoe's contributions helped Cheyenne East to a 24-7 record this past season, taking 2nd place at the State Tournament in Gillette.

Waldorf University is an NAIA institution that competes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and went 10-29 in softball last season.
