This week’s WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll shuffled the teams within the top five.

Cheyenne East held the top spot. There was no tie, and one team moved up in the new rankings.

The Thunderbirds have kept a grip on the top spot since the second poll of the season. Cheyenne East received 12 of the 18 first-place votes. They have lost only one conference game, and it was on the road.

After a pair of convincing head-to-head wins over their crosstown rival, Thunder Basin was alone in second. The Bolts earned three first-place votes and a majority of second-place votes.

Campbell County fell one spot to third after the losses to Thunder Basin.

Cody was the one team that rose one spot. They moved from fifth to fourth. The Fillies also closed the margin on the Camels, as Cody was only nine points back in the voting. Cody is the only undefeated team in the state.

Laramie dropped one position to fifth in the poll. The Plainsmen have not played a game since April 1, as their last five dates were postponed because of the weather.

WyoPreps provided coaches and media members around the state a chance to vote for who they felt were the top teams in high school softball around Wyoming. The voting was conducted anonymously.
