Natrona and Rock Springs  hooked up on Friday for what turned out to be an entertaining game to wrap up the regular season in 4A. NC grabbed the lead in the first quarter on a 9 yard run for a touchdown from Dante Wallace to put the Mustangs up 7-0.  Rock Springs really made some progress in the 2nd quarter with a couple of touchdowns. Seth Hymas had a 21 yard run to the end zone and Hymas threw a 40 yard TD pass to Justis Reece so the Tigers led 13-7 at the halftime intermission.

Natrona inched closer in the 3rd quarter as Wilsk Jackson scored from the 2 yard line but Rock Springs responded with a TD of their own as Reece scored for the 2nd time on a run of 21 yards so the Tigers still led 19-14.

The 4th quarter was wild and wooly as Wallace scored for the 2nd time for Natrona, this time on a 7 yard run. And with the successful 2 point try, the Mustangs grabbed the lead at 22-19 Collin Madsen returned the favor for Rock Springs as he caught a 7-yard touchdown pass to put the Tigers in front 26-22. Natrona did save the best for last as quarterback Harrison Taubert found Koby Kelly for a touchdown with just 32 seconds left to make it 29-26 and that’s the way it stayed.  Natrona even with the win got the 5th seed in the 4A playoffs and will visit Cheyenne east in the first round of the playoffs on Friday. Rock Springs will be the 6th seed and they have a first-round playoff game on the road at Cheyenne Central
