PhotoFest! Gillette Basketball Tournament

One of the season-opening tournaments in basketball was the Early Bird in Gillette. Six Wyoming teams and a couple of out-of-state clubs took part in this 3-day event. On the boys' side, St. Thomas More from South Dakota went 3-0 in the tourney. Scottsbluff, Nebraska also went 3-0. Defending 4A state champion Thunder Basin went 1-2. Worland who is ranked 2nd in our WyoPreps 3A poll went 1-2 and Buffalo who was ranked 4th lost all 3 of their match-ups. Rock Springs and Cody won 2 of out 3 with Campbell County going 0-3.

On the girls' side of the Early Bird tournament, Cody went 3-0 and they are the pre-season #1 team in 4A and placed 2nd at last year's State Tournament. Campbell County who is ranked 4th in our WyoPreps pre-season poll went 2-1 Scottsbluff and St. Thomas More both went 2-1. Buffalo who was ranked 4th in our 3A poll went 1-2 as well as Thunder Basin and Rock Springs. Worland went 0-3 in this 3-day event.
