The last time Rock Springs played in a football championship game was in 2002 which was the last year that they won a state title. The Tigers marched through Cheyenne East in the 4A semi-finals on Friday night 55-34 to advance to the big show on Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

Rock Springs reeled off the first 27 points of the game as quarterback Brock Bider threw a couple of touchdown passes. Dylan Coburn for the game ended up with 4 touchdowns and Andrew Skorcz had a 25 yard TD catch and a 95-yard kick-off return for a score.

East had a productive night with the football as Cade Pugh rang up a couple of touchdowns with Cam Hayes, Garet Schlabs, and Drew Jackson also finding the end zone. But the Thunderbirds had no answer whatsoever for the Rock Springs offensive machine.

Rock Springs at 10-1 will face Sheridan in the 4A title game on Saturday in Laramie and the Broncs dealt the Tigers their only loss of the season. Cheyenne East finishes the season at 8-3.

We do have a few photos to share with you in our gallery from Jasey McBurnett from that game in Sweetwater County. Enjoy!
