A Sheridan High School basketball grad has once again been given pre-season conference honors, and the season has yet to start.

For the second-consecutive year, Wyoming's Kayla Woodward has been named the 2014-15 Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year.

The voting panel consisted of the league's 11 head coaches and select women's basketball media.

A 5-11 forward from Sheridan, Wyo., Woodward was first-team All-Mountain West selection last season and was named to the 2014 MW All-Tournament Team.

The second-leading scorer in the league from a year ago, she averaged 16.7 points per game, and is a 3-time 1st team All Mountain West Conference selection.

Last season, she earned honorable mention All-American honors.
