The Sheridan Broncs used a 22 point 4th quarter to beat Evanston the opening round of the 4A Boys State Tournament in Casper on Thursday afternoon.

Evanston led by 1 after 3 quarters of play and Sheridan asserted themselves from then on.

Coy Steel led Sheridan with 14 points and Aaaron Woodward chipped in 11.

The Broncs did connect on 7, 3 pointers in the game.

Evanston received 11 points from Jesse Barker and 10 from Chase Critchfield.

The Red Devils were just 2-12 from beyond the arc.

Sheridan moves to 13-11 overall and will take on Kelly Walsh in the semi-finals on Friday night at 7:30 at the Events Center.

Evanston goes to the consolation round against Cheyenne Central at noon on Friday at the CEC.
