Two Teams Trade Spots in the New WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Rankings

Another week and another change in Wednesday’s WyoPreps Coaches and Media Softball Poll. The difference this time was that the alteration was not as significant. Thunder Basin held the top spot for the second straight week. The three-time defending champs have clinched the Northeast Conference regular season title and No. 1 seed at the North Regional Softball Tournament on May 16 and 17 in Casper. The Bolts received 15 of the 18 first-place votes. Cheyenne East remained second. The T-Birds got the other three ballots for the top position. Wheatland and Cheyenne Central swapped spots this week. The Bulldogs’ second conference win over the Indians pushed them to third. Central fell to fifth. Campbell County held steady at No. 4, despite a second loss to Sheridan in conference action.

Sheridan and Laramie were the other teams that garnered votes. The Broncs even received a vote for second.
