Six Wyoming prep track athletes will compete on Friday and Saturday at the Arcadia Invitational in California.

Two of the six will be in two events, while the other four are in one race.

The reigning Gatorade Wyoming Girls Cross Country Player of the Year, Sydney Morrell of Cheyenne Central, will run in two events. She is in the open 800 meters and the seeded 1-mile race on Saturday. Morrell ran a personal-best 2:14.58 in the 800 meters at the Altitude Running Invitational last weekend in Fort Collins. She clocked a personal-best 5:04.34 in the 1600 meters at the Runners Roost of Fort Collins Invitational on March 24.

Lander’s Gage Gose will compete in both hurdle races on Saturday. Gose set two school records last weekend at the Altitude Running Invitational in Fort Collins. He won the 110 hurdles at a time of 14.44 seconds and the 300 hurdles at a time of 37.45 seconds. He runs both events on Saturday.

Natrona County senior Jackson Dutcher is in the seeded 1-mile race for the guys. That race is late on Saturday afternoon. He ran 4:23.80 at the Runners Roost of Fort Collins Invitational two weeks ago. That was a personal best.

Senior teammate Tristan Enders will run in the open 3200 meters on Friday evening. His best time in that event during the outdoor season was 9:59.49 at last year’s state track meet.

Cheyenne Central senior Bridger Brokaw will race in the open 1-mile on Saturday morning. He ran a personal-best 4:30.29 two weeks ago at the Runners Roost of Fort Collins track meet.

Finally, Big Piney’s Colby Jenks competes in the open 800 meters on midday Saturday. Jenks’ best time in that event was 1:55.59 at the 2022 Wyoming High School State Track and Field Championships last May.

Track and field athletes from 36 states and a record 690 schools will compete at the Arcadia Invitational.
