The state volleyball tournament kicked off at the Casper Events Center on Thursday. In 4A, Kelly Walsh is looking to 3-peat as state champions and they knocked off Cheyenne Central in the first round  25-13, 25-19 and 25-12. That puts the Trojans in a semi-final round match with Laramie on Friday.  Over in 2A, defending champion Wright survived a tough Greybull squad in 4 games.  The Panthers draw Wind River in the semis. The final there was 15-25, 25-19 25-17 and 25-16. Also in 2A, Pine Bluffs who entered the state tournament with a record of 27-3 was upset by Rocky Mountain in 5 sets. The Grizzlies started the tournament with a record of 19-13 and win the match 25-21, 17-25, 25-21 18-25 and 15-13.  So Rocky Mountain will meet Sundance in the final 4.In 1A, Cokeville is looking for their 3rd state title in a row and dominated Lingle-Fort Laramie in the quarterfinal round, 25-15, 25-12 and 25-8. These Panthers will have to deal with Little Snake River in the semi-final round. We have some videos of the KW/Central, Wright/Greybull, Rocky Mt/ Pine Bluffs and the Cokeville/ Lingle matches.
