Cheyenne Central's Jack Ring was a newcomer to Wyoming High School wrestling. He enrolled at Central at the Christmas break from Ault, Colorado, and proceeded to go 18-0 and win the 4A 170 pound state title. He beat the Gatorade Football Player of the Year in Colson Coon 6-1, a match where points were well earned. Ring overcame a nasty gash on his forehead that he suffered earlier in the tournament but he really looked solid at the state championships. Coon finishes the year at 31-8. The 3rd place finisher was Cort Catlin of Thunder Basin with Kody Rex of Evanston 4th.

In 3A, Lyman produces a ton of talented athletes and Chevy Fackrell. He has made a name for himself on the football field and on the mat. Fackrell picked up a state title with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Worland's Josh Rose.  It was pretty much a grind-it-out match and Fackrell capped the season with a record of 40-5 with Rose completing the season at 29-12.  Cody's Dylan Campbell was 3rd and Zach Weipert of Green River 4th.

Speaking of solid all-around athletes, how about Wyatt Trembly from Dubois. He led 1A 6 Man football in rushing with 1634 yards and pinned Landon Heaps of Kemmerer for the 2A 170 pound championship. Trembly was 40-4 on the year and he is just a sophomore. Heaps was 34-16 in his junior season. The 3rd place finisher in 2A 170 was Colten Smith of Wright with Glenrock's Dusty Cox taking 4th.
