State Wrestling: 220 LB. Championships
Wind River wrestler Tucker Jensen probably needs more attention than he has gotten in the past considering he is the two-time state champion at 220 pounds in 2A. Jensen dispatched James Love of Lovell by a pin to finish the season with a record of 42-1. Jensen pinned all four of his opponents in the state tournament so that tells you right there about his ability level and this is his junior season. Love, a sophomore wrapped up the year at 36-13. The 3rd place guy in 2A at 220 pounds was Dylan Molzahn of Lusk with Conner Viehwig of Cokeville 4th.
The 3A 220 pound match featured 2 guys who entered the bout with just 4 losses combined. Josh Womack of Newcastle Upton needed every point he could get and squeezed by Carson Tims of Mountain View 2-0. Womack was ecstatic after his win and is 43-3 on the year. Tims had a great season as well with a record of 40-2. Garrett Parker of Rawlins took 3rd and Ryan Watson of Riverton 4th.
Over in 4A, it was another tightly contested match as Davin Mattimoe of Cheyenne Central came up with 2 points in the last 12 seconds and held on to beat Aidyn Mitchell of Thunder Basin 3-2. Mattimoe is a sophomore so this is certainly something to build on and finished the season 29-20. Mitchell is a senior and his record this year was 23-13. Ryan Hoggatt of Evanston took 3rd and RJ Rino of Cheyenne East 4th,
