It didn't take long for Rawlins junior Sydney Thorvaldson to make a splash at the Simplot Games in Pocatello, ID.

In the preliminary round of the 3200 meters, Thorvaldson broke her own record set last year in the race. She finished with a time of 10:11.43, which is eight seconds better than the mark form 2019.

Monty Penman was kind enough to share a video from Simplot Games of the finish with WyoPreps.

Thorvaldson won the race by nearly 45 seconds.

The Simplot Games continues with more action on Friday and Saturday from Holt Arena on the campus of Idaho State University.
