The Douglas Bearcats are absolutely a factor in 3A football and this classification has been tough so far this year. Douglas played host to Torrington on Friday and it was eventful 1at quarter with Douglas drawing first blood on a 65 yard run from Blake Travnicek to give the cats a 7-0. That was followed by a 1-yard plunge to the end zone by Gabe Borman, it was 13-0 Douglas

Torrington had a score of their own thanks to Trace Floyd with a 2-yard run to cut the Douglas lead to 13-7

Douglas asserted themselves in the 2nd quarter with 13 points thanks to Gabe Borman who had a 20 yard to the end zone and then got in from the 1. The Bearcats took a 26-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the 2nd half, Torrington hit pay dirt as quarterback Sam Firminhac threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Deagan Keith but Douglas continued to score as Travnicek got in from the doorstep and Koby Case rambled 65 yards for a touchdown. Douglas wins this one in a big way 40-14 to improve to 4-1 on the year. Torrington drops to 1-4. This week,  Douglas goes to Worland and Torrington will be on the road in Riverton.
