Cody has the lead after the first day of the 2025 Wyoming High School Indoor Track State Championships on Thursday in Gillette. Cody, Buffalo, and Worland won multiple events, but the Broncs and Fillies have double-digit leads in the team standings. Day One was highlighted by Pinedale senior Madison Antonino, who won her third consecutive 3A championship in the girls’ 3200 meters.

The Cody Fillies scored 44 points on Thursday. Powell was second with 33.5 team points. Torrington and Worland were tied for third at 26.

The Cody Broncs lead the boys’ team standings at 59 points. Mountain View scored 29.5 points on Day One, followed by Worland at 29 points.

Antonino broke her 3A record in the 3200 meters at 8:18.40. It was over three seconds faster than her mark a year ago.

Isabelle Paddock of Cody won the 3A girls’ pole vault after she cleared 11-0.50. The Fillies added a victory on the track in the Sprint Medley Relay at 4:29.47. On the boys’ side, Kyler Stinson won the 400 meters by over three seconds at 50.23. Teammate Jarom Beardall took the long jump after a leap of 21-10.25. The Broncs crossed the line first in the SMR at 3:46.49.

Buffalo won three events. The Bison won both the girls’ and boys’ 4x800 relays. The girls won the race at 10:18.08. The boys set a new 3A record in the relay at 8:18.55. It broke the old mark by Star Valley from last year of 8:25.70. Buffalo’s third win was in the boys’ high jump. Kason Kukuchka won after clearing 5-10 on fewer attempts.

Worland’s Cherise Douzenis captured the 400 meters in the girls’ division. She ran 58.62 and was the only runner under one minute. Trajn Swalstad won the boys’ 3200 meters at 9:56.22. He was the lone runner under 10 minutes.

The last two individual wins on Thursday were in the field events. First was Trisha Pontarolo of Torrington. She went 35-0.50 and won by nearly one foot in the triple jump. The other victory was by Mountain View’s Derek Hagler. He took first place in the boys’ shot put at 56-0.50 and won by nearly nine feet. Hagler also set a new Class 3A record by over one foot.

The rest of the finals will be on Friday in Gillette.
