The latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Boys Basketball Poll is very similar to the lady’s, with a new No. 1, two new teams, and shifting in three divisions.

Following a pair of big wins to open conference quadrant play, the Sheridan Broncs take the top spot in Class 4A for the first time this season. They received 17 of the 23 first-place votes. Thunder Basin drops to second this week, while Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central hold in third and fourth. The Bolts and Thunderbirds both earned first-place votes. Campbell County is still fifth in the big-school division.

Worland is a unanimous selection for No. 1 in Class 3A for the first time this season. The Warriors picked up all 15 first-place votes. Powell moves into second after their victory over Lander, which pushes the Tigers down to third. Rawlins climbs one spot to fourth. Buffalo started conference quadrant action with two wins and, that helps the Bison move into the top five for the first time this season.

Despite a loss last week, the Encampment Tigers hold the top spot in Class 1A. They received eight of the 11 ballots for the top position. Upton moves up two spots to second, while Farson-Eden and Saratoga both slide to third and fourth. Cokeville’s win at Encampment helps the Panthers debut in the rankings at No. 5.

Class 2A is the only one with no change. Rocky Mountain is a unanimous choice at the top. Sundance barely holds onto second by three points in the voting over Tongue River. Big Piney and Big Horn round out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.
